i'm buying a new scanner this weekend, a canon lide, about 50 GBP i sick of wrestling with my hp and wont ever purchase any more of their products. vuescan is fine, but its not free, functionality is limited photoshop wont see it, and i cant use my scanner as a fax machine etc, sorry to be the r bringer of bad news, but just forget it and buy a new one if your pocket will stretch, im pretty hacked of by the whole situation.
