Here is a nearly 30 year old banjo that was made during an exciting time in the Cleveland, Ohio shop's history. This banjo had the hands of Kevin Enoch, Bob Smakula, and Peter H. Smakula involved in it's construction. The natural finished mahogany neck has a scale ebony fretboard with nicely engraved mother-of-pearl inlay. The 11 diameter rim is one of Peter H. Smakula's masterpieces. Using an early 1900's Fairbanks Electric banjo as a model, PHS re-created that legendary scalloped tonering, full spinover construction with perhaps a little more precision. The tone is dynamic with a clarity that is perfect for melody playing. The original owner didn't play it much. There are a few chips in the lacquer, but otherwise nearly new looking.
